HOW DO I DEFINE A +2.5 RUN LINE?
Many cars have a gauge on the dashboard that displays the amount of engine oil: the +2.5-run line. This line should not go down since it indicates that the engine has too much oil and has to be changed.
The run line represents the difference between runs scored and runs allowed by each team during a game. The line means how each team performed during that specific matchup and can be used to forecast future outcomes.
The run line can have one of two values: +0 or +2.5. The line advances up (toward the +2.5 end) when one team outscores its opponent; down (away from the +2.5 end) when the opposing team outscores its opponent (toward the -2.5 end).
