Multiple 2021–2022 Los Angeles Lakers seem to have completed their Hall of Fame careers in Los Angeles. At any rate.
During the offseason, the Brooklyn Nets had expressed interest in both powers forward Carmelo Anthony and center Dwight Howard. Still, they ultimately decided to take a younger approach with their frontcourt.
Eight-time All-Star Howard, who contributed significantly to the Lakers’ 2020 championship, said last week that he would continue his professional basketball career with the Taiwanese team, the Taoyuan Leopards. Melo now appears to be joining him but on a different Taiwanese team. The Tainan TSG GhostHawks are interested in signing the 10-time All-Star, according to Focus Taiwan.
Head coach Liu Meng-chu has given the GhostHawks the go-ahead to approach Anthony and make an offer. Surprisingly, the 38-year-old veteran hasn’t joined a new NBA club this season, given that he still appears to have some NBA life left in him. With the Lakers in 69 games last year, the potential first-ballot Hall of Famer averaged 13.3 points (on.441/.375/.830 shooting splits) and 4.2 rebounds.
However, we digress. Like Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony is an all-time great. Therefore, it is a little depressing that he is not currently on the team while still having some gas in the tank.
