Bills Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and is in critical condition

The NFL confirmed in a statement that Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is in serious condition after falling on the field during the first quarter of the Bills’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night.

 

Hamlin collapsed on his back seconds after rising from an open-field tackle by Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.

 

Bills team trainers were treating the player within ten seconds of the collapse. According to a source aired, an ambulance was sent onto the field in less than five minutes, and he was given CPR.

 

“Hamlin received urgent medical assistance on the field from the team and outside medical personnel, as well as local paramedics. According to the NFL, he was subsequently taken to a local hospital, where he is still in critical condition.

 

According to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the game has been rescheduled due to Hamlin’s medical issue. At 5:58 in the first quarter, the game was called off.

 

According to the broadcast, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell contacted game officials at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati to decide the game’s status.

 

The NFLPA tweeted Monday night that the league and “everyone in our community prays for Damar Hamlin.”

 

“We have communicated with Bills and Bengals players and with the NFL. “Right now, the only sole factor that matters is Damar’s health and well-being,” the players’ association stated.

 

The Bills, Bengals, and several other NFL players expressed their support for Hamlin on Monday night.

 

“The game is not significant,” Arizona Cardinals defensive end JJ Watt tweeted. The life of Damar Hamlin is significant. Please be fine. Please.”

 

“We are sending Damar our prayers and thoughts,” the Bengals tweeted.

 

The 24-year-old Bills player is in his second season and has appeared in every game this season.
