Due to a “non-COVID” sickness, 6ers Embiid is out again from the game

With what the team described as a “non-COVID-related” ailment, Joel Embiid missed his third game of the year, the Philadelphia 76ers’ 121-111 loss to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

 

In order to prevent the virus and disease from spreading within the locker room, Sixers coach Doc Rivers stated before Wednesday’s game that Embiid had been away from the club recently.

 

For the same reason, Embiid stayed home from Monday’s game in Washington. Due to knee pain, he also missed a game last Thursday in Toronto. In a game on Saturday against Chicago, he played a total of 25 points.

 

Through six games, Embiid, who has finished second in the NBA MVP voting each of the last two seasons, has averaged 27.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists for Philadelphia.

 

Embiid has missed three games already this season, including three of the last four. His latest game was a 114-109 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, in which he recorded 25 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal. In six games, Embiid has averaged 61.8 percent true shooting, 27.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.2 blocks.

 

When the Sixers welcome the Wizards to the Wells Fargo Center at 6 p.m., they will try to surpass.500 for the first time this season. Wednesday EST. James Harden scored 23 points and tied a career-high with 17 assists in the win on Monday. Tyrese Maxey tacked on 28 additional points. Philadelphia will need its star backcourt to perform admirably once more in the big fella’s absence to capture a fourth straight victory.
