The Golden State Warriors players visited the White House on Tuesday afternoon to commemorate their 2022 NBA Championship.
During their tour, the Warriors handed customized jerseys to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Steph Curry, the 2022 NBA Finals MVP, took the podium to make the announcement.
“We brought some gifts for you, two jerseys, a jersey 46 and a jersey 49, and we’ll delight to have you as a part of Dub Nation forever,” Curry says.
The Warriors were in D.C. because they had a game against the Wizards on Monday afternoon.
Curry led the Warriors to a 127-118 victory with 41 points and seven rebounds.
They will not travel to face the Wizards again this season; instead, they will face the Boston Celtics on Thursday night in Massachusetts (the team they defeated in the 2022 NBA Finals).
They made it to the NBA Finals five times straight from 2015 to 2019 and have won the NBA Championship in four of the last eight seasons.
For the team’s six trips to the NBA Finals, Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Draymond Green, and head coach Steve Kerr were present (and four titles).
The Warriors are currently the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a record of 22-22 in 44 games.
They trail the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies by 8.5 games for the top seed and the Sacramento Kings by 3.0 games for the fourth seed.
