The 22-year-old defender for Poland’s national team, who participated 43 times for Italy, competed for his country in the most recent FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Jakub played for the Polish team GKS Tychy, the Belgian club Anderlecht, and the Slovakian team FK Zeleziarne Podbrezova before joining them at 18.
Jakub transferred to MSK Zilina after a season, where he played 46 games throughout two seasons with the Slovakian team.
The left-sided center defender was transferred to Spezia in August 2021 due to his excellent play. Since then, he has solidified himself as a regular starting player for the Serie A squad. Jakub played nine times for Poland after earning his full international debut when he was in Italy.
“We’re thrilled to have completed the acquisition of Jakub Kiwior,” said Sporting Director Edu. “We’ve been keeping an eye on this rising star for a time. Now that Jakub has joined us, we look forward to working with him and watching him grow. Jakub is welcomed at Arsenal.”
Mikel Arteta, manager, continued, “It’s excellent that Jakub is joining us. Young and versatile, he has already distinguished himself at the international level for Poland and with Spezia in Serie A.”
“We happily accept Jakub and his family to Arsenal and look forward to collaborating with him,” said the statement. “Jakub is an athlete who will give us quality and strength to our defensive unit.”
Jakub will immediately begin practicing with his new teammates, wearing the number 15 shirt.
Everyone at Arsenal warmly welcomes Jakub.
The transfer is contingent on all legal procedures being completed.
