Lake Grove soccer player Scally to compete for Team USA at the FIFA W.C. in Qatar

As the United States prepares to compete in the World Cup, a Long Island soccer star has been appointed to the team.

Lake Grove resident Joe Scally is currently a player for a team in Germany.

Numerous images of Margaret Scally’s kid and other family members are displayed on the living room wall. She is a proud mother. But now that the 19-year-old has been selected to play for the US Men’s National Soccer team in the World Cup, they have more significance for everyone.

Margaret Scally exclaims, “Crazy! I think we were all like crazy. It doesn’t feel real. It’s nuts!”

Joe Scally was always confident that soccer was the only sport he wanted to play.

His first professional deal was with the New York City Football Club when he was only 15. He would compete for Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany three years later.

The top defender will now represent Qatar’s US National Soccer team at the FIFA 2022 World Cup. This past weekend, he arrived and recorded a video message for his loved ones on Long Island.

Joe Scally stated, “This is an unforgettable experience, and I’m thrilled you’re all here to come along for the trip. I just wanted to greet everyone back home on Long Island for supporting not only me but the US men’s national team as they compete for everything.”

His family is currently relocating to be with him. They claim that his attendance at the World Cup was unimaginable.

His brother, Drew Scally, says, “I used to watch it growing up, and now that he got called, it doesn’t feel real.”

But the family acknowledges that they won’t be sending Long Island pizza or bagels because they claim it’s not his style.

We wish he would eat that because, as Margaret Scally quips in jest, “He won’t eat rubbish. He’ll eat it like once.” He avoids eating junk food.

In one week, on Monday, the FIFA World Cup will begin.
