Scoring 128-111, the Milwaukee Bucks overcome the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night in a match between the NBA’s most recent two champions, thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 30 points and Bobby Portis’ 25 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite missing seven of ten 3-point attempts, Stephen Curry still managed to score 20 points. For Golden State, Klay Thompson added 14, and Jordan Poole added 18.
The Warriors lost their third straight-away game, dropping to 2-12 this year. Every away game this season for the reigning NBA champions has seen a minimum of 114 points given up.
The Bucks made 45 of 82 shots (54 percent), looking to rebound from a loss to Houston on Sunday night in which they were got to 92 points, their second-lowest game total this season.
After three minutes on the court, Portis had already racked up six points and two rebounds. This spurred a 16-6 run that enabled the Bucks to lead 38-27 at the end of the first period.
At the half, the Warriors were down 64–52. Golden State scored 20 of 50 3-point attempts, keeping the score close by making 11 3s in the first half.
Milwaukee was able to establish some distance with a second-half 8-2 run. With 7:05 remaining in the third quarter, Khris Middleton made a 3-pointer to increase the Bucks’ lead to 21 points.
