We can anticipate what each team will bring to the table in the upcoming MLB season as it gets closer and closer to 2023.
As the 2023 season approaches, MLB Network ranked their top relievers. Baseball’s second-best reliever, Emmanuel Clase, was at the top of this list.
By the Mets’ Edwin Diaz, he lost out. This might be a little debatable in light of the stats for these two pitchers.
Having a better walk-in song is Diaz’s only real advantage over Clase. Other than that, I would much rather have Clase pitching out of my bullpen nine times out of ten.
With a 1.36 ERA and a 0.729 WHIP, Clase had a successful 2022 campaign. Additionally, he ranked first in the league for appearances (77), games completed (67), and saves (42). It takes an exceptional talent to be so relied upon by your team and to do so without becoming weary or inconsistent.
Edwin Diaz of the Mets defeated him. However, this might be a little debatable when considering the statistics of these two pitchers.
Diaz has an advantage over Clase in terms of a better walk-in song. Other than that, I almost always prefer Clase to be the pitcher I’m using.

Clase has a much better contract than Diaz does. The Guardians owe their closer $20 million over the following five years, with team options on the sixth and seventh years. On the other hand, Diaz is owed $102 million by the Mets over the following five years.
Emmanuel Clase will play for the Cleveland Guardians this upcoming season, whether or not he is considered baseball’s best closer. He will be entertaining to watch.
