The Lakers dominated Game 3 by going back to basics. After an uncharacteristically weak Game 2 in which they barely got to the free-throw line, the Lakers returned home with 37 attempts from the charity stripe.
With the physicality of Anthony Davis and LeBron James, the Lakers were able to take control and open things up for a hot shooting night from D’Angelo Russell. Davis responded hugely after scoring just 11 points in Game 2. He rebounded with 25 points and 13 rebounds. In Game 4, we expect the Warriors to reset as they did in Game 2, but not to the extent that they could completely reverse a 30-point road loss. The Warriors did prove against the Kings that they can win on the road with their backs against the wall, but their more extensive work this year suggests we shouldn’t believe them too.
Expect this game to be closer, but the Lakers will win Game 4 against the Warriors.
